About This Place On The Interweb

This is me.

This is me.

Time for an update!

Let’s face it:  there was no deep, meaningful reason that I created this blog.  At the time, I was a new SAHM (Stay At Home Mama) who spent a lot of time nursing her little bundle of joy and surfing the net.

A year or so later, and I have completely fallen in love with baking and the baking community.  I have been having a blast discovering all the creative ways to play with desserts, and “meeting” other bakers!  A short five years ago, I would have told you I wasn’t interested in cooking or baking or being in a kitchen at all.  Turns out, I had a total foodie hiding inside of me, just waiting to be turned loose!

I love reading other people’s blogs – it’s like meeting lots of other SAHMs, SAHFs, HOJOs, MOJOs (yeah I made those up…) and so on without actually interacting with anybody.  It’s great!  Or else it’s making my cabin fever worse.  One of those two.

Those little babies that I had when I started this blog are now school-aged, and we spend lots of time homeschooling. We primarily use Classical Conversations for our curriculum, but we also use several other programs for math, English, and a little extra science, too. Maybe soon I will change the direction of this blog to focus more on homeschooling since it is such a big part of my life now!

I am married to a very busy, opinionated, good-hearted, goofy, handsome, programmer-extraordinaire (who has helped change this blog from a very plain, un-inspired thing to the pretty cool place you’re visiting now – thanks, love!) who drives me nuts and keeps me sane, too.  We’re cut from the same cloth and couldn’t do without eachother and that’s all there is to say about that!

I am a Christian.  An imperfect, often hypocritical, God-fearing, salvation believing Christian.  I won’t preach to you, or shove my beliefs down your throat…but this is my “about me” section and that’s a huge thing you should know about me.  Also, let’s try to keep everything here PG-13, mkay?  Mkay.

So that’s all about this place on the interweb.

This is your mom and the last time I checked, my name was Ruth. I’m proud of you, your crazy-and-fits-right-in-the-family husband, David, and just plain goofy about Lauren. I have no idea where you got all the craziness from but I like it and you express it really well. OK. That’s all the exercise my fingers can take today. Anyhow – cool blog! This from the woman who knows everything but can’t remember most of it. 🙂

So is this where I type up something to get your attention. Ha. You are going to have to cook for me sometime. When you coming to Minnesota?

I’m probably biased a little cause you’re my little sista! I haven’t tried even a .5 of your delectable treats but I do know that everything you bake is made with love which in my opinion makes it the best! I am really proud of you and your whole family! You are now, was then, and always will be…My FAVORITE and BELOVED sister!

Hi, love your blog design. Your husband did a great job. I love baking too. It is one of the only things apart from exercise (which I haven’t done in a while) that gets rid of stress. It was great to stumble upon your site. On Tuesdays I do a recipe sharing kind of thing where you can post a link to your recipes. I would love for you to come on over. See you!
