I’m Meltiiiing and Lovin’ It!

Howdy Bloggy Buddies!!

As you  know, I only had one resolution this year (which is more than most years) and it is totally, pitifully self-centered and predictable.  But also really needed.  On Monday I started Phase 1 of the Atkins diet, and my goal is to lose 15 pounds.  Let me just be honest and say that I absolutely was *not* loving Monday.  Monday was an all-day battle not to cram MM’s and cookies and SOMETHING, ANYTHING SWEET into my mouth.

But the following days haven’t been so bad – breakfast and lunch are pretty satisfying but it’s the middle of the afternoon where I totally crash and end up exhausted and craving carbs like nobody’s business.  So that’s when I pack up the girls and head out to the barn to feed the horses and distract myself until dinnertime.  It’s actually a pretty great arrangement!

And you know what?  I have dropped almost 6 pounds in 5 days.  Insert glitter and rainbows and happy dances HERE!

The worst part is that Hubs, who when I am baking all the time likes to proudly announce, over and over, that he just doesn’t eat a lot of sugar (and therefore refrains from most of my goodies) has spent every evening begging me to make him some “ooey gooey chocolate chip cookies!”  Yes, he is mean. How funny that he is having sympathy cravings for me!

Seriously, I am loving and thanking God for this malleable little jar of clay that I am. (2 Corinthians 4:7)

So what about you guys?  How are your new year’s resolutions/intentions/expectations going so far??

Woohoo!!!

I am so jealous! But I was just happy to not have gained any weight on vacation where there was a buffet all hours of the day and 24-hour room service. *pats on the back* *high-fives BeckiD*

Good for you Becki! Stick to it. There’s nothing like tending to your beautiful horses to take your mind off of those pesky cravings.
