BBFL Part: 2

BBFL: That’s Bloggy Buddies For Life, remember?  Get it right or pay the price!

Last night I received my goodie package from Brooke (or Shutterboo, as she’s known around these Interwebs) and WHOA BUDDY let me tell you, it was totally worth the wait!

Brooke would like you to think she’s a little tough around the edges (she claims her alter ego is Ouiser from Steel Magnolias) but I’d like to state for the record, that Brooke is one of the nicest Internet people I know.  For real.  I mean, come on – along with her amazing candies, she also sent me this absolutely ADORABLE miniature cupcake cookie cutter:

Now would Ouiser be caught shopping for precious cookie cutters?  I think not! 😉  Also, she loves babies, and dogs AND believes in young love.  Yep, that Boo is one sweet heart.  And she is a super-talented photographer, who also loves sharing her knowledge with those of us who are more….uhm….in need of assistance?

Anyway, last night I received my package of both Bourbon and Amaretto balls.

Oh. My.

As someone who doesn’t drink, I have to say – those Bourbon Balls are RICH.  Like, amazingly, perfectly, just-the-way-Kentucky-meant-’em-to-be rich.  I don’t know what was wrong with those Kentucky State Fair judges, but these Balls are winners in my book!  Though I will say, the Amaretto Balls are the ones I am hoarding.  They’re a little more subtle, a little more sweet, a little more – feminine? – to me.  Can candy be feminine?  I’m going with yes.  And Brooke’s Amaretto Balls are a sweet, girlie delight!

Thank you so much for the goodies and the friendship, my Bloggy Buddies.  You are the best!

Grateful,

Becki

What a great gal Brooke is! I’m going to have to visit her blog (look for that Amaretto Ball recipe) I love Amaretto and I loved the movie Steel Magnolias. Ouiser was actually one of my favourite characters!

I’m glad you like them! They look like they may have gotten a little warm on the journey south (how ’bout that weather we had earlier this week?!?) but would taste fine even if they got all gooey chocolatey on you. And I believe Ouiser WOULD buy cookie cutters – she may a bit bitter but has a sweet center. 🙂
(The amaretto balls are made the same as the bourbon balls only sub bourbon for amaretto and pecans for almonds.)
