OK, so let me begin by confessing that I have never watched an entire Star Wars movie. I know, I know! It doesn’t seem possible, does it?
But when our friends’ baby boy Jedi sent Lauren an invite to his 2nd birthday party, I knew just what I had wanted to do: adorable little Yoda pops! I may not have the attention span to watch a full “episode” of Star Wars, but even I know that Yoda is awesome. And Ewoks. They’re so cute! But Ewok pops would be much more difficult….I digress.
Once I again, I made The Best Cocoa Brownies, Ever! and tossed in a couple spoonfuls of marshmallow fluff and some mini chocolate chips. YUM CITY. Then I balled ’em up, put sticks in ’em and let them hang out in the freezer while I drew my best impression of Yoda ears with green candy melts. I made them WAY TOO THIN. The ears were super fragile, and many were lost in the bagging/transporting processes. Next time I will draw boldly!
I dunked my naked pops in green candy melts, and immediately stuck on the ears.
No face, yoda has. Herh herh herh.
They looked kind of like green bats or goblins at this point, huh? Just wait, it gets better!
I quickly discovered that I am no Yoda artiste. I couldn’t decide which version looked the best (or least terrible?) so I did a few of each – eyes, nose, and mouth only like the half a one on the far left; eyes, nose, mouth and eyebrows like the one on the far right; or the ones that turned out looking like I gave them cartoon Chinaman mustaches like the one in the middle. I know, I know.
All the pictures of Yoda that I found in my Googling showed him wearing a cloak thingie, so I tried to make the tags kind of resemble that. With the print in the slanty-Star-Wars-credits style. This is how that effort turned out:
More like capes than cloaks, I know. Still, I was pretty happy with the tags.
And the finished product, while definitely far from a Lucas Arts production, was pretty cute if you ask me:
And they were definitely fun to eat!
Of yoda’s head I took a bite out. Hmmmmmm.
Google “Yoda Translator” – it’s fun!
Very happy birthday, I hope you had, Jedi!

Super cute! I still don’t know how you do all that masterful work! 😉 Seriously, I’m hiring you for Addison’s Birthday! 😉
They were soooo cute!! Thank you for making them for Jedi! They both really liked them, and looooved how they tasted!! Mommy did too 🙂
These are so cute! I really have to try making these. I’m so late to the cake pop party!
I think they turned out great! What an ambitious venture…if some one asked me to do those, I would have said, no way! Great job!
Thank you so much, Shelly. Though I know you would totally make them, and better. Your cookies and cupcakes are unbelievable – you rock! 🙂
