Lauren woke me up at 5:00 this morning, so instead of crawling back into bed, I decided today would be a good day to try to get myself on an a.m. running schedule. There are many good reasons to run in the morning:
1) David can keep sleeping while Lauren sleeps in her bassinet. They are both happy with that arrangement and neither of them is missing me, as opposed to when I run in the evenings.
2) I don’t mess with everybody’s eating schedule when I run in the morning. It botches us up when I go in the evening, because I have to run after David gets home from work and before it gets dark. You know, that period usually called supper time?
3) Races are always (mostly) held in the mornings. I should learn to embrace the morning run.
Blah, blah, blah.
As much as I rhapsodized about my 4 mile run the other evening, I would now like to denounce running in the morning. My main point of contention: in the a.m., as I get hotter, so does the weather. In the evening, the lovely opposite happens. Also, my joints are very stiff in the morning. My legs feel like lead, and it’s just not fun. I’m sure this could be remedied by a good stretching and warm-up routine, but that would require getting up even earlier. Sacrilege!
Anyway, I made it 2.8 miles this morning. But I only ran the first 2.5. And that’s all there is to say about that!
My hips already hurt,

ha ha ha! why don’t you get a running stroller for later morning runs and set up a schedule for evening and mornings. you shouldn’t have to sacrifice sleep to do something good for your body when you have the energy in the evenings. but what do i know? getting up at 7 is nearly impossible for me.
b/c andrew & i are a 1 car family now, he runs to the gym (i love living on base) at 6am (gross) while i sleep in until the last minute then when he gets back i put on my workout clothes, bring him to work and do my morning workout routine at the gym on the way back. i’m not a fan of getting up too early, though. especially during these highly-enjoyable unemployed days. i need at least 9.5 hours of sleep. haha. i dont know how the hubby does it, though. the alarm goes off at 6am and he’s up and outta there.
